Triops: Day one!

I never thought they would hatch, but they did. And it is awesome. The process was quite hard I believe, at least for kids (which I think this product was aimed for).

So what was needed?

1. Some kind of tank. I used a large 3 litre glass jar.
2. Distilled water. You can get it pretty much everywhere. It's called "battery water" where I live.
3. Lamp to give them light and heat.
4. Some kind of thermometer. The ideal temperature for these "animals" are around 22-25 Celsius.
3. Triop eggs.

Mix everything together and wait...

Here's the setup btw:

After roughly 2 days I started to see movement. They were like tiny grains or jerky sand corns. Almost impossible to capture on photo as I don't have a macro lens, but this should give you an idea of how they look like. (yes it is that blurry thing in the middle)

I've heard that they grow fast. Can't wait to see how big they are tomorow.

Long Pause.

Ouch almost a month has gone since my last update. That is not good.
Anyhow might as well tell what I've done during the ~30 days that has passed.

I bought a book called "The Man in The High Castle" by Philip K Dick, which at the moment (page 100) is damn interesting. The book takes place in the States. However there is a twist. Namely that the US and its allies lost the second world war. This book follows several characters a few years after the war. Nazi Germany, Japan and Italy has now divided the world between them and are ruling it with iron fists (?). This book is very clever and quite deep for being a "science fiction" novel. I haven't finished it yet, but I suggest that you all go read it.

I am still trying to play "Cliffs of Dover", but the process is slow. I haven't had time to play that much really. Still slow and sloppy fingers.

I bought this thing called Triassic Triops, which basically are some kind of dried shrimp eggs that you put into water. It is supposed to look this awesome after a 20-30 days :
It says "From ages 7+" on the package. Hmm, I might be a little bit old for this, but hey it looks cool. (Let's say I bought them for my sister)

And some more stuff that I can't bother to write at the moment.
Seeya later!

A late night update.

Just wanted to give you or the future readers an update of what I'm doing now. As I said I wanted to master the amazing solo "Cliffs of Dover" by Eric Johnsson. So far I've given up on the introduction and moved to the so called "hook" riff. The tabulature is actually quite easy and I've managed to get the "tune". However it's still quite stiff. Here is a video of the riff I'm speaking about (not me playing it)

Also pinky finger hurts like hell after playing, but I'm noticing think skin building up already. So that's good :)
Hear from you later.

Some project.

I've recently started to play the guitar again. It has been a long time since I last played and I've almost forgot everything. All I can do now is some stupid chords and scales.
But I'm feeling that more and more of the "skills" I had before are coming back. I've set up a pretty ridiculous goal. And that's to learn "Cliffs of Dover".

Hm, this will take some time.

Work again.

And so faster than a space rocket the winter break has ended. I hate how time goes by so fast. It's incredible.
I remember how when I was a kid, experienced these incredibly boring moments that seems to have vanished now. I always felt that I had too much time. Oh the wait...

Nowadays it's the complete opposite. I want to have more time, I want to get back the boring moments in life. The moments when one hour felt like two hours, when you could sleep 10 hours without the regard of an angry boss.

Ugh.

I'm sick.

Yes, I got the common cold. So damn annoying. I blame my mother.
Face feels swollen, head is aching, nose is clogged, eyes are tired, brain is whining.
I wish there was a medicin against the common cold. Too bad it's caused by a virus... so not possible to cure it.

What to do.

I've been planning to have a personal blog for a long time. I don't know what made me hesitate until now, 2011.
I guess I was afraid to write from the depths of my heart and brain (no not really) and that I was afraid that these messages might reach out to no one but myself.
Either how these posts train my English skills, which to be honest might look good but are riddled with grammatical errors.
